Members of the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross who died in the first half of 2002 |
José García Fernández was born on June 6, 1913, and became a member of the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross in 1965. He obtained the licentiate in Sacred Theology and Sacred Scripture in Rome. Upon his return to Spain he was Rector and Professor of Sacred Scripture at the diocesan Seminary of Saint Anthony, in Badajoz. He was also a canon of the Cathedral of the Holy Church in Badajoz. He dedicated many hours a day to confessions and to spiritual direction. He died on May 9, 2002.
Sebastián Zaragoza Zaragoza was born in Villajoyosa, Alicante, Spain on July 8, 1907. He was ordained a priest in 1930, and died in Benimaclet, Valencia, on April 26, 2002. He exercised his priestly ministry with great generosity for 71 years throughout the province of Valencia. He met Opus Dei at the end of the sixties and requested admission to the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross in 1970. He showed great apostolic zeal and strove to unite all priests with their bishop.
Jaroslav Zrzavy died suddenly on February 25, 2002. He was the first member of the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross in the Czech Republic. He was born on August 23, 1924 in Krízová. He was the vice-rector of the Seminary of Litomerice and assistant professor on the Faculty of Theology. He was noted for his apostolic zeal, especially with the other priests in his diocese.
