Twenty-six faithful of Opus Dei were ordained priests by Bishop Javier Echevarría on Saturday May 31, in the Basílica of St. Eugene in Rome.
The new priests are from 12 different countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, the Philippines and Spain. Their names are: Horacio Javier Antúnez, Emilio Luis Arizmendi Echecopar, Orlando Juan Pablo G. Beltrán Jr., José María Carrasco Peña, César Antonio O. Claudio, Francisco de Borja Dantart Pitarch, Carlos Durán Múzquiz, Antonio Jacinto García-Berbel Molina, Carlos García del Barrio, Gregorio Guitián Crespo, Pedro Gutiérrez Guindo, Stéphane Hénaux, Michael Lowenthal, Shohei Kimura, Juan Pedro Maldonado Isla, Rafael Martín Bravo, Rodrigo Martínez Acebes, Laurent Mazingi Kadogo, Manuel Miedes Miedes, Juan Francisco Montuenga Badía, Leonard Uchenna Nwokoye Ogbanufe, Josep Peguera i Poch, Albert Ribot i Margarit, Guilherme Sanches Ximenes, Alexandre Taló i Valls and Sebastián Urruticoechea Ríos.
Among the new priests are engineers, computer specialists, philologists, veterinarians, physical therapists and physicians.
