First Mass in the parish of St. Josemaria, Valencia

On March 28, more than a hundred parishioners attended the first Mass of the parish of St. Josemaria Escriva in the district of Campanar, in Valencia, Spain. The beginning of pastoral activity coincided with the anniversary of the priestly ordination of the founder of Opus Dei. The parish, established by the Archbishop of Valencia, Agustín García-Gasco, on October 8, 2002, two days after the canonization of St. Josemaria, began its provisional activity in the chapel of the Divine Child School, close to the place where the new church would be built.
